AOCS/NOPA Certified Labs Program

NOPA has an agreement with the American Oil Chemists Society (AOCS) to oversee annual performance testing and certification of the NOPA Official Referee Laboratories and Official Referee Chemists designated under the NOPA Trading Rules. For more information about the AOCS/NOPA Lab Certification Program, please visit the AOCS website.

Trading Rules Committees

NOPA has a Soybean Meal Trading Rules Committee and a Soybean Oil Trading Rules Committee comprised of buyers and sellers who review NOPA’s Trading Rules and, when modern commercial practices warrant changes, recommend revisions for approval by NOPA’s Board of Directors. To facilitate this process, each Committee meets annually to ensure effectiveness and usefulness of NOPA’s Trading Rules and related administrative programs with input from NOPA’s Food/Feed Safety & Quality Advisory Group, NOPA’s Designated Professional Engineer, and/or AOCS, as appropriate.

NOPA’s Trading Rules have been amended numerous times since their initial adoption, and are published annually at the start of each marketing year on October 1.
