Membership

NOPA is the only national trade association dedicated solely to advocating for the U.S. soybean and softseed crush industry. As a member of NOPA, you and your employees will receive access to exclusive resources, tools, and benefits to help you address shifting demands and marketplace challenges.

Monthly U.S. Crush Reports

  • Provides monthly market data on U.S. soybean crush and oils stocks for the current month, previous month, and comparable month over month and year over year data.

NOPA Trading Rules

  • Serves as the sole industry guide to facilitate the efficient negotiation and execution of domestic and export soybean meal and oil related transactions. The NOPA trading rules are referenced in many soybean purchase contracts.

Government Relations & Regulatory Advocacy

  • NOPA helps you break through the noise as is your eyes and ears in Washington, DC providing timely and late breaking updates on federal legislative and regulatory matters in uniquely impacting the U.S. crush industry.
  • Complimentary access to NOPA’s weekly newsletter, late breaking legislative and regulatory updates, and action alerts.
  • Provides complimentary access to key legal and programmatic experts on biofuels and trade.
  • Regularly provides members with access to high-ranking officials and decision makers and works with members in scheduling facility tours with Members of Congress.

Public Relations

  • NOPA proactively works to educate key external stakeholders on NOPA members’ perspective and priorities serving as the sole public voice for the U.S. crush industry.

Educational Initiatives

  • NOPA offers educational opportunities to members such as monthly “Webinar Wednesdays” on key topics that are uniquely to the U.S. crush industry.

Industry Networking

  • Representing nearly 100% of the U.S. crush industry, NOPA in person meetings provide a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals in a supportive, non-competing environment.

Regular Members

Any firm or corporation regularly engaged within the continental limits of the United States in the processing (crushing) of soybeans, canola, sunflower seed, flaxseed and safflower seed for meal and oil using a solvent extraction process may become a regular member of NOPA upon the approval of the Board of Directors.

Annual Investment: The annual investment for Regular Members are determined by the Board of Directors from year to year and  based on a member’s crush volume per month for soybeans and per quarter for softseeds.

Provisional Members

An oilseed processing company that intends to become engaged within the continental limits of the U.S. in the actual processing of oilseeds for meal and oil using a solvent extraction process, but whose crushing facilities have not yet become operational may apply.

  • Must provide evidence of a public announcement indicating its intentions to construct a solvent extraction soybean processing facility within the U.S.
  • Have received approved environmental air permits for proposed processing facility, and be under construction; and
  • Anticipate a processing start date within two years of Association membership approval.

Annual Investment: The annual investment for Provisional Members is an annual fixed fee.
