NOPA Welcomes North Dakota Soybean Processors as Newest Members
Addition of NDSP Further Expands NOPA Reach
WASHINGTON, January 6, 2025 – The National Oilseed Processors Association (NOPA), the trade association representing the soybean, canola, flaxseed, safflower seed, and sunflower seed crushing industries recently welcomed North Dakota Soybean Processors (NDSP) as the association’s newest member. NDSP crush will be included in the next NOPA crush report, to be issued January 15.
NDSP is a joint venture formed by CGB Enterprises, Inc. (CGB) and Minnesota Soybean Processors (MnSP) for the ownership and operation of a state-of-the-art soybean processing plant near Casselton, North Dakota. The new facility will crush 42.5 million bushels of soybeans in the first year, providing a more competitive and viable market within North Dakota for production that previously left the state.
“NOPA is proud to continue to expand our membership footprint with the addition of North Dakota Soybean Processors as our latest member,” said Kailee Tkacz Buller, NOPA President and CEO. “NOPA’s members serve as industry leaders and play a pivotal role in advocating for our industry’s long-term viability. This latest addition brings NOPA one step closer to meeting our goal of representing 100% of U.S. soybean crush capacity.”
NOPA continues to see tremendous momentum and growth in the association, welcoming four new members and two provisional members – Bartlett and Scoular – in 2024. NOPA members now crush over 97 percent of all soybeans processed in the United States and the association aspires to soon represent 100 percent of U.S. soybean crush capacity.
NOPA members have collectively invested $6 billion to expand U.S. crushing capacity by nearly 30 percent relative to 2023 installed capacity and are on track to support domestic production of an additional 1.4 billion gallons of renewable diesel and biodiesel, also known as biomass-based diesel (BBD), by 2030.
