Life Cycle Inventory Data of U.S. Soybean Processing
On September 5, 2024 NOPA issued a report titled “Life Cycle Inventory Data of Soybean Processing”. The data covered Jan. 1, 2023-Dec. 31, 2023 with 89% member company participation and showed the soybean crushing emissions from GREET 2023 were reduced by 38%.
NOPA USB LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT, February 2024
A Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) jointly commissioned by NOPA and the United Soybean Board (USB) shows the carbon footprint for U.S. soybeans decreased 19 percent from 2015 – 2021.
The main drivers of environmental impact assessed in the LCA included soybean cultivation and harvesting, transportation and energy usage in processing.
